Aim: To take a cross curricular, fun approach to embed understanding of shapes and their properties.
Outcome: To create Shape Land in our gym which will be an exhibition of all the work we have done during shape week. Each year group will get a section of the gym to display their work.
Stimulus – shape books by Mac Barnett and Jon Klassen (Square, Circle and Triangle) Triangle wishes Square to develop land for him and bring colour to the land. Square needs our help! He has heard how fantastic Hotspur is at Maths and bringing colour to the world after our Artslab work.
Use image and quote from book “There were shapes with no names.” Can we help Square develop the land into a place full of colour and shapes?
