We are excited to welcome you to our Reception page for new parents and carers which we hope will give you and your child an insight into what life is like in Reception at Hotspur.
We have given a lot of thought to the start of your child’s Reception year to make the transition as smooth as possible and we hope the induction programme we have planned will provide lots of opportunity for you and your child to be welcomed, reassured and part of the Hotspur community from now until the beginning of the new school year.
It is with regret that following the government announcement of continued COVID-19 restrictions we are unable to host our planned parent/carer welcome meetings on 23rd and 24th June.
Jenn Findlay, Deputy Headteacher, is recording a video presentation of the welcome meeting information which we will make available to parents as soon as possible.
ONE TO ONE MEETINGS
Our one to one parent/carer meetings will still go ahead as planned, if you have not received your individual appointment date and time please contact the school office as soon as possible. Please note, these meetings will be held in person, in a COVID-secure way, with our Reception class teachers.
These one to one meetings will be your opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. It is important that everyone attends, even if your child has been in our Nursery or you have older children in school, as you will find out essential information about this year's arrangements, which may be different to previous years.
STAY AND PLAY SESSIONS
Please join us for a stay and play session in July so your child can familiarise themselves with the Reception staff and learning spaces. This will also be a chance for you to meet some of your child's classmates and their families. Activities for your children to engage with will be set up inside and outside and in accordance with our COVID-19 risk assessment have been split into small groups. If you have not already registered for a session please do so below.
