Singing Week 12

Good morning everybody...

This week at the virtual singing assembly:

  • We have a bouncy and popular song that we and the children love to sing at Hotspur - My Song is a Good Song - There are 3 parts, in altogether to the end, so try singing along with each.
  • Year 4 performed Dona Nobis Pacem beautifully at St Silas Church just before Christmas and led the rest of the school at the Christmas Singing on the final day of the Autumn term. Here is Elizabeth from Durham Music running through the parts. Sing all 3 parts, one after the other.
  • Rob's been cooking up more music in his kitchen (He appears to have grown into a giant sitting next to his kitchen this week!) - I Walked to the End of the Road - composed by the late, great Keith Morris, a much loved musician in the North East and beyond. This is a brilliant little round, that Mr Johnston revisited with us at the singing assembly just before the lockdown.
  • SingUp's 'Song of the Week' this week is 'Raise My Voice' - follow this link to access the lyrics, activities and backing track: SingUp Song of the Week
  • Our good friend Claire at Lullaboogaloo has a lovely song for KS1 to learn and sing along with: Here's my House
  • Music Partnership North have put together a play/sing-along with Can't Stop the Feeling - follow the link for all the instrumental parts here: MPN Local Heroes Dance week
  • Durham Music also give us: 'Mrs O'Leary' a fun and active song to enjoy together.
